Rules For Recruiting
 
Sophomore Year Junior Year Senior Year

A prospect is permitted to receive only the following from college coaches:

*Questionnaires

* Camp Brochures

*NCAA Educational Information

A prospect and his or her family may:

*Make an unofficial visit to a college or university

*Make telephone calls to coaches at the prospect's expense

*In the sport of DivisionI Men's Basketball only, coaches may telephone you once per month after June 15th of your sophomore year through July 31st of your junior year and mail you recruiting materials following your sophomore year.

*In the sport of Ice Hockey, if you live outside the United States, you may receive a telephone call from a coach in July after your sophomore year.

Beginning Sept. 1, you may receive printed recruiting matrial by mail and be contacted by fax and e-mail.

In all sports other than football and basketball, you may receive one phone call from an NCAA Division I college coach beginning July 1st after your junior year.

College coaches may meet with you in person on your high school campus once during April and not again until July 1.

In football only, you may receive one phone call from a Division I coach in May of your junior year.

In Division I basketball only, coaches may phone male prospects once per month until August 1st after your junior year and call female prospects once in April and once in May.

NCAA Division II coaches may call once a week in all sports beginning June 15 after your junior year.

Official (paid) visits to colleges not permitted except for Men's basketball players.

Unofficial visits and phone calls at the prospect's expense permitted anytime.

A college coach may send printed recruiting materials at any time.

Division I coaches may phone a prospect once a week after July 1 prior to your senior year. For Div. I football only, weekly calls may begin after Sept. 1.

Coaches may meet with you in person off the college campus subject to contact rules in their specific sport.

Official (paid) visits permitted beginning the first day of class of your senior year. Only 5 Official visits per prospect.

Unofficial visits and phone calls at the prospect's expense permitted anytime.


NCAA Division I:
Earn a combined sum score on the SAT or ACT that matches the core course grade point average on the chart below:

NCAA Division II:
Requires minimum Core GPA of 2.0, sum score of 68 on the ACT or 820 on the SAT.

Div III:
These requirements do not apply, eligibility for financial aid, practice and competition is governed by institutional converence and other NCAA regulations.
